1090 Oil Filter

How can i be sure my filter has been changed when the dealer carries out the service ? going in tomorrow for service .

If i remove the 4 bolts holding the filter cover will all the oil come out or is there another means of holding the filter behind this cover ?

Any advice welcome , i have not had a very good start with this dealer and they have offered to service the bike FOC while the carry out some warranty work , i just want to make sure they actually do it .

Dab a bit of fingernail polish on some of the fasteners they must remove.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Changing the tank due to paint defect , changing rear shock due to cosmetic defect and new rad guard due to black paint coming off .

I love the bike but some of the quality issues are not to good and so far the after sales care has been almost criminal .

do you have issues with yours ?

WOW.....! thats disappointing to hear.... I had a crack headlight..! and it wasn't a stone or bird that hit it..The salesman that sold me the bike was very good. To cut a long story short, Moto GB ended up giving me a new one...£750...!!! (I met the MotoGB MD when we went to Milan to see the MV factory and Milan show last year, so that certainly helped me...!) Mine will be going in for a service soon so will need to give it a good check over before hand....How many miles have you done? Did u get a hugger...? That's next on my list, not sure which one to buy....any advise...? Thanks.....

Hi Steve - if it's the dealer we've previously discussed then I think they will at least change the filter (you'll recall the fun I had with my filter change at this dealer) but I'd check the service guide before you go so you know what's to be checked and changed and you can question them on it.....and get them to check the cush drive rubbers as this seems a weak area on the 1090
Interesting you mention the rad cover as I've had a few flakes of paint come off mine but I've just been using a touch up stick on it (seems they just applied paint direct to the metal when it really should have been powder coated) - let me know if the replacement is any better
Good Luck
