40th birthday trip ruined thanks moto gb

I'Ve been bitting my tongue for the last month, but i am now disgusted with the treatment from dealers and Moto gb. i reported a serious fault on my brutale 990rr about six weeks ago where the gears just jumped out of gear just before a bend, the bike slurred to a halt and went i re-started it eventually there was a lot of vibration through the whole bike. my bike has been passed between dealers whilst they argued over who dose what? 5 weeks later i got it back filthy dirty with a rusty chain + 80 mile on the clock. less than week after i got it back with apparently no fault found!!!! it's gone completely i cannot even get nuetral to start the bike they have made is worse. next week 29th April for my 40th birthday my partner and some friends had all booked up to go to swizterland touring, now all that has had to cancelled costing us money, and during this not one person can offer me a courtsey bike. But the cheek of it offered me a new one minus depreciation, ( £4,000) to change) then offered to hire one for my trip. is it me or dose this totally suck?

would love to know where i stand leaglly.!!

It's all very funny until someone gets hurt, then it's hilarious.

From what you have described, it's not you. It totally sucks.

And you still don't know what the problem is with the bike?

there guessing it's the return spring, but that was what it went in for the first time, and said it was o.k. two dealers are spending so much time slagging each other off and lying to me. they are forgetting the bigger picture. just wish moto GB and the dealers could get there act together. now there to busy to pick it up because the weather is nice every one has gone bike barmy.

It's all very funny until someone gets hurt, then it's hilarious.

Joanne, this is awful news

I do hope something good eventuates from this debacle......

I think you should set your sights high, and go for the top of the establishment, with legal representation if necessary, that'll get things done

At the very least you should get a courtesy bike while they muck about deciding who does what on yours

ORBIS NON SUFFICIT

thanks for advice i think i do need legal advice, was most annoying is back to first service i logged a complaint about the gear jumping out last year and was told it was ok. now six months on it's been in for five weeks with no fault found and now it's gone completely.

the Dealers names are speedway motor cycles, birmingham, Drayton croft, Hinckley, and bikers world coleshill. not forgetting of course the elusive don't phone us Moto GB!!

It's all very funny until someone gets hurt, then it's hilarious.

Hi Joanne - really sorry to hear about the problems - BillyWizz highly recommends Russ at Bennets of Barnsley - maybe give him a call to see if he can help otherwise it looks like the legal route is the next step
Steve 1968 and I have had bad experiences with one of the dealers you mention
Good Luck
