MV Agusta Brutale 1090R

I'm not sure what's going on in Canada, but they've let it slip that a Brutale 1090R is coming this summer. Looks like it's replacing the previously announced 920. Maybe someone here has the inside scoop on what's going on at MV? My logic is that they realized the 920 motor would be too costly, and it's easier to just use the parts they have at their disposal to make an entry-level Brutale (until the 675 comes out of course).

It seems highly unlikely that MV would ever have more than two ‘big’ Brutales at the same time, so it makes all sense that the models available would be the 1090R and the 1090RR–Why would they keep the 990R?
When the 910S came out is replaced the 750S. Then the 910R came out as an upgraded model.
Then came the ‘new’ Brutales, the 989R and the 1078RR.
Then came the softer, HD inspired bikes, the 990R and 1090RR.
The 920R was to have replaced the 990R so that there was a bigger gap between the two bikes.
Now the 920 appears to have been slightly revised into this 1090R, which is simply a 920R with the engine from the 1090RR.

Simple enough, and hardly warrants a WTF exclamation.

This move makes particular sense with the Brutalina 675 coming (and aslo presumably an R variant), to further distance the model line.

B4 750S [sold]
B3 675R [waiting]

According to Motovan the canadian distributor, this bike will be exclusive only to Canada. Everybody else will probably still get the 920.

interesting that it'd be Canada only.

New Site Garage
The 1090R is only entry level on price (-$2300) and bits (wheels, mirrors, seat, colour).
The engine has the same specs as the 1090rr.

Rather confusing Marketing talk. (mirror, seat, derived from 990R)
