I wonder if its as thick or has the Kevlar in it like the original?? Guess I could ask.

Yes i am everywhere mate, rapidly working on the "been there done that" experience.
Here is another one

They simpley fit over the excisting engine casings, you take some of the engine bolts out so you can bolt them on. Then I put a bit of silicon grease on the engine casings in a couple of places, pump some silicone at the same place onto the guard before I fit it. That way it sits snug with no movement but can still be taken off without it sticking to the motor. I have used both and I think they are a must have for protection, plus it looks nice too. PM me for questions and look at my photo albums, they are in there.

ahh wich one do I choose? I have the old school engine armor on mine and its tuff but its kinda ugly. No frills carbon fiber with kevlar. Prob skid it down a hill and b ok. Not shiny at all
