Unhappy More Brutale woes

Finally got the suspension sorted which is now great!

But unfortunately the brutale is suffering from a more significant problem.. It has begun running very badly! Under 3000rpm it coughs, splutters and wants to stall..

And above 6-7000 rpm exactly the same..

It can be difficult to start, even refusing to do so for periods.. and will backfire quite violently trying to start (and whilst running).. sometimes it emits a strange sound from the exhaust when it wont start, like it's underwater! (a woop wooping noise)

Just for info's sake the mid-pipe has been removed but I have no idea what chip is in it..
I have run Nulon Total Fuel System Cleaner through it to no effect..
The bike is going in to the dealership thursday to get sorted.. hopefully

Anyone had this problem or know what it might be?

Cheers guys

Have you only just removed the mid-pipe?

If so, you will need a new eprom chip to change the mapping of the bike to suit your new exhaust. The other two options you have is:

1). Add a power commander III, then get a dyno tuned map made for the bike - less $.
2). A new mapped ECU (see Chris from X-Bikes for the best option) - more $$$.

Cheers, Simon

Hi Afeylad. I'm Marco and live in the Netherlands. On 11-24-2010 you wrote the above text

==================================

I've got exactly the same problems!! Did you solve it?
If yes, what was the problem?

Last year I allready have replaced the fuse-box. But now I got the problem of stuttering. It iddles but it seems to misfire, like its on 3 cylinders. I had some looks on the forum and your issue seems the one that is the closest to my problem.
I think it might be the air temperature sensor but am not sure.

Marco

Welcome, Marco.

How many miles (kilometers) on the bike? Are you the original owner? What year is it? What mods have been done to it?

oh,how many times has this been an issue, you change the exhaust system on these bikes and you will have to fork out some dollars to get it correct again, your options pc with dyno tune or chris microtec.
change any part of the exhaust and it will run like crap.
cheers eddy
