Socket size for fork cap

Hi

Iíve burst a fork seal and was wondering what size spanner/socket I need to remove the fork cap of my on my 910R (50mm Marzocchiís) and can this be at least loosened of slightly before removing the leg from the yokes.

Loosening Cap

Not sure about the size but please loosen it before you loosen the bolts in the triple clamps, otherwise you will have to find a way to hold the tube while you loosen the cap. Hint....A vise is a very bad idea.......Unless you pad the jaws first.

it should be 33mm socket i think from memory i wrote down somewhere

Loosen top clamp bolts before you try to loosen the cap, keep the lower clamp tight.
