2010 Brutale Front brake/wheel spindle

Forgive me for questioning such a beautiful bike but I wonder why MV didn't use the same front brake/ wheel spindle fixing casting arrangement on the Brutale that they use to good effect on the F4. The F4 assembly looks so cooool. Maybe the forks are different, if so why not the same forks?

Front Fork spindle clamping system

Not being the designer, and without benefit of "insider information" I can only speculate.

Earlier models used front suspension that carried compression AND rebound damping in both legs.

According to instructions from my dealer, and marked on each leg, The 2010 Brutale uses one leg for rebound and the other for compression damping.

This seems to "jive" as a quick comparison to the 2010 parts list shows differing part numbers L to R for the internal components. MY F4 parts list for years before 2010 show the internal damping component part number L to R to be identical.

My suspicion is the damping forces on the 2010 variant would tend to create a rocking motion at the clamp points of the spindle and MV Agusta felt the swing clamp design was not best in this application.
