1090rr It's official "the quickest bike ever"

1090 RR was said to be “the best bike here” in a 3 three way test with the Streetfighter S and the new Z1000 i n this month’s Bike magazine.

But they then go on to say that the Z1000 won because it was almost as good but £5079 cheaper. (Would you have a new Z1000, it looks like its been designed by the guy who used to design bikes for those crappy 1970-80s low budget Sci-Fi films)

40 – 120 mph in top it was the quickest bike they have ever tested 8.85 sec. To compare that the F4 1078 RR 12.05 sec and the Streetfighter 11.3 sec and the Z1000 in 9.59

Bet the “quickest bike ever” in the title got the F4 guy looking lol

It looks superb. Perhaps you haven't been to see one in the flesh, but its very well finished and very striking. It deserves to win a few shoot outs imo. I think we all know which is the better bike really though.

The 1/4 times in the 1090rr test are very interesting--11.07 @129 mph. The times for 910R cycle world [email protected] and sports rider [email protected] are faster. Can they really have soften the power enough to offset the displacement increase? Has anyone seen performance #s for the 1078 Brutale?

I’ve seen the Z1000 at the local dealer and to me it just looks terrible, they are just trying to hard. It looks as though ever single bit was designed by a different person without any contact with each other.

But like the Benneli Café Racer I can see how the bike will split peoples opinions, you will either love it or hate.

For me it looks like it should be rotting on a Hollywood back lot after being rejected for something like Running Man or Judge Dread.

1/ mmm...so it says the 1090 don't wheelie much? thats the reason it posts 'slightly' quicker times than the 1078 which can't keep its front wheel on the ground!
2/ the dyno figures show the 1090 to be about 10bhp and 8 torques down on the 1078.
3/ you guys on the look for a new brutale.....surely you KNOW which one to buy yeh? And £3000 uk cheaper too! What you waitin for!

It's a streetfighter. Some people will just not 'get' the look I guess. So what did the testers say about the handling?
