Mirrors keep moving on me argh!!!!!

Hey there,

The twit who owned this brilliant bit of kit known as a 910R, before me, placed a stick-on convex mirror to the stock mirror surface.

In turn this added weight to the mirror & subsequently pulled the face of the mirror downwards.

I have now removed the stupid thing, but alas, the mirror still 'droops' (a loss of friction to hold it in place).

Is there any known way to 'tighten' the internal friction piece inside the mirror housing so that it will once again point where it should, that is, behind me?

Mine were doing this on my 910R even without stick on convex things. Had to jam a piece of foam in the edge to stop it. Very annoying.

Thanks davman.
Hillarious isn't it? The quality of these bikes is brilliant, yet the good ol' Italians have a habit of leaving the design of some componentry to the junior guy in the workshop as they all go off to lunch.

Take the 'afterthought' indicators for example, such a shame...........

New Site Garage
Replace the mirrors with Bar-end version ??? - I've not been able to find a way to get into the internal housing unit of the mirrors

Agree, there are hundereds of better solutions than the stock ones, I guess I'm asking a bit much for them to just 'work'.......

You have to remove glass

Unlike your mirror which has come loose my mirror's internal attachment just snapped off I retrived the mirror of the road and found there is a single PK screw in the centre behind the glass which is stuck on a plastic mount if you can get the glass of you can get to the screw good luck
