Brutale speedometer vs. Real speed

I spent most of this morning out with a friend of mine who happens to be a State Police. He is also a avid biker with a very nice Duc 999s. We were interested in just how accurate the speedometers were on our Italian stalions.

I have a 910R that first let me say I love more each time I ride it!

The speedo is actually much more accurate than many non-Italian brands. Up to 120 mph, the Brut has about a 3% high reading. Here's some specific figures.

Indicated: Actual:

60 mph 58 mph
80 mph 77.5 mph
100 mph 97 mph
120 mph 116.5 mph

His Duc was quite similar with about a 3.5% high reading.

The one thing I miss on the Brutale "on-board" display is Max. Speed and Ave. Speed. I may get a bicycle computer like I had on my Aprilia which can be calibrated to exact speed.

More on that later if I do it.

See FAQ for two solutions. My F4 was out 12% at 80mph IIRC.

that's better than the 9% OPTIMISTIC speedos of ALL bmws made before last year (they are now finally VERY accurate)

thanks for that info

My 2000 with a 43T does 20km/1000rpm in sixth, it's way off now I need a devider or when sticking to the speedo I am sure I am not speeding!!
