Spluttering at +-6000 rpm

Hey peeps,my brute 750 has developed a spluttering when held at +-6000
rpm .Annoying as this is kinda cruising speed in the uk.Any ideas what the
problem could be or is it normal. She's got a cat bypass and a powercommander fitted with a bmc filter.Any clues will help.

bad fuel ? sometimes they ad petrol to the fuel , not so bad for cars but for engines like MV ....
Had that same spluttering, advice from dealer : ride it dry en go to your usual gas dealer
after 100 miles it should be gone (and it was)

but of course it could be something realy different

Throttle body balance has improved that on both bikes servicing, to the point of being almost unnoticable. Seems to drift off afterwards though. The mechanic swears its due to the engine running in over a high milage putting the setup off, I dont really know. We shall find out at 10K + miles I guess.
