Newbie brutale owner

Hello all,

I'm a new owner of 2012 1090r. Very excited to have her, it's an amazing bike. It is bone stock, I'd like to know if there are any highly recommended upgrades I should do? I plan on getting a titty tale but what do you guys recommended for getting rid of the huge cat sitting underneath her? Do I need a full exhaust or can a slip on work?

Thank you

Hi and welcome

congrats on the new bike.

Upgrade wise I think a slip on is a nice low hassle upgrade to improve sound and lose a load of weight. I have the MV OL4 slip ons. They are expensive but really nice and light. You can always add the header later and lose the cat.

Other upgrades are really cosmetic and to your personal choice if you like to switch bits of black plastic out for carbon, or change rearsets, levers etc. If you are going to track it then you might want frame/engine protection fitting.

There are loads of bling dress up parts you can buy...you could replace nearly every fastener with titanium if you wished....look on the forum sponsor websites for the product range...

cheers

To get rid of the "box" requires a full header...I happen to have a titanium one for sale for a good price!
Welcome!

you can chop your existing header and add a "y" piece to eliminate the cat, you'll find details on the site somewhere posted by eddy from down under

This came off a 2020 Brutale 1090RR...so it should fit.

It is the Moto Corse system...you can have it with, or without, the slip on.

Thanks you guys for the responses, I've ordered some parts and I'll make her look nice. I'm still new to the forum so I'll do some snooping.

Thanks!
