Rear Brake Lever required

Hi,

New to the forum having recently purchased a second hand low km 1090RR and in short, I love it!!!!

Sadly I made a mistake last night while turning the bike around. I managed to loose my balance, then subsequently my footing and which resulted in me not being able to stand the bike back up again and having to gently lay it down on the right hand side. Upon climbing off and standing it up everything looked fine then I discovered that the rear brake lever had snapped off.

I've just spoken with the local dealer and it appears that there are 2 already on back order for other owners and are 2-3 months away.

Being new to all this I thought I'd draw on the collective wisdom of the forum and see what other options I have available to me.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Cheers

Simon

Welcome to the forum Simon. Since you don't say where you are on this little planet the search becomes a but complicated.
If you look in the Market Place section you will find the forum sponsors, with original and aftermarket options, also maybe add a thread in the For Sale section.
Glad you like the bike.

Very good point about the location. I'm in Sydney, Australia.

I've managed to find an aftermarket solution from GP Racing who can supply the toe rubber and the eccentric at what seems like a reasonable price. Not sure on delivery time yet but have requested the information.

Has anyone had any experience with them?

I did look at the star Twin site as suggested and it's very good to easily identifying the part you need. It doesn't however offer an indication as to if they have any stock of a particular part, which is somewhat frustrating.

Thanks for the help and fingers crossed I'm back on the road before too long.

Cheers

Has anyone had any experience with them? Look around the rest of the forum Simon, Alex is a well respected forum sponsor, and has been for some time, as is all the forum sponsors, feel free to email them on their site too.

You can ride without that toe piece or rear brake, but if it's that much of a killer, I have some spare which you can "borrow" and send mine back when you get a new one.

Simon, I might have a lever at home, do you need the whole thing or just the toe piece ? Send me a pm and that'll remind me to take a look in the garage tonight when I get home.

Sorry for the slow reply to all the kind offers of help.

It's only the toe piece that appears to be damaged.

I've sent rsawkins a pm and if that's doesn't come through Donsy I'll be in touch.

Thanks again for all the help guys. Cheers

I received the part from GP already. Very quick delivery. Sadly it didn't come with the rubber on it as in the picture.
