2000 miles in 8 days on a bruty

Just got back from a 2000 miles trip down through Spain to Huelva (near Jerez) on my Brute with two guys on Kawasaki Z750's. Wanted to say:-

Good Things
- Never ever missed a beat or needed any work at all (that made them eat their words). Just cleaned and lubed the chain and wiped of the worst of the insects with wet wipes.
- Coped superbly with up to 45 degree heat, got to 106 deg the towns but on fast roads ran cooler the faster you went (unless we got stuck in a lorries wake).
- Over the Sierra's mountain roads - even fully loaded with all the ventura gear, 3 or 4 extra clicks of compression damping made it handle beautifully, brakes were never fazed even through whole
days were spent frying the tyres.
- Got back to England and did 230 miles through torrential rain (as bad as I've ridden in for many years) and again it coped superbly.
- Was as comfortable as any bike I've had and better than many on 350+ miles days. Aerodynamics from the light/instrument cluster allowed high 90's cruising.
- In hot evening conditions, with my vast size & weight and all the luggage, destroyed the Z750's on ultimate flat out speeds (closed track - obviously

Bad things.......NONE!!!!

I love this bike. Pic is a day out to Rio Tinto copper mines, vetura rack removed and grab rail installed (1 min job). New tyres (not those nasty 207RR's) and service booked for next week. Roll on summer!!!

One mate is pulling all our pics together for this weekend, will post anything interesting into an album. I've been touring since 1982 and have to say some of the smaller roads over the sierra's were the best I've ever ridden. I went to Spain years ago and thought it was all just flat plains... how wrong can you be!.

BB, that is amazing that you went on that trip in that amount of time. I hear people (that don't have MV's) talking about the reliability, but I will direct them to this site. Sounds like your baby held up well and wants more. BTW, great pic. Looking forward to seeing all the photos from your trip.

Personality is what you show of yourself daily.

Character is what comes out under adversity. (Think about that)

These bikes are as (or more) reliable than any I have seen.

I completed a 1600 mile tour in 3 days, and did two full days at the track immediately after. Since then I have put an additional 1000 miles on the bike with absolutely no issues.

Congrats on your ride, looking forward to seeing the pics.

Fantastic, sounds like a great trip, I was actually wondering how you went as I can remember you posting a thread saying you had tried you luggage out at speed and it held on well (prior to the trip). It would be great to here some more, it's good to do that on a machine you can rely on.

Well done.

Have you done any seat mods for your Brutale? I like doing distance as well, but after about 300 miles the stock seat really begins to bite the butt.
