1090r seat removal

ive just picked up my 2013 1090r brutale
it has a 1090rr seat fitted but I cant get it off
the key turns about 90 degrees but nothing happens and the seat wont budge
any help appreciated

By 1090RR seat are you referencing the two part seat? If so the key should pop up the rider seat which is removed before the pillion seat - I'm assuming you've tried that.

My guess is that either the spring in the release is gone or the cable between the two is loose/snapped.

push down on the back portion of the rider seat before turning the key. While holding it down turn the key and then release the seat. Taking pressure off the latch might help it release

thanks guys
turns out previous owner made a temporary solution when he swapped to the RR seat and never got around to hooking the cable up to the key
all good now
