1090RR - UK Owners - Race exhaust - MOT ?

A question for the UK owners who may be running the race exhaust, full system with ECU etc and no cat

Do you ever have any issues at MOT time ?

Im just deciding whether to go for slip ons or full system....

thanks in advance

H Bogie,
It very much depends on which shop you use for MOT's, some in my locality will fail you as soon as look at it, others take a more sympathetic approach, such as insisting you cover over any "race use only stamps or marks". I would have a chat with a few shops in your area and ask around with other owners.

I had mv corse cans on my 920 ans they weren't that much louder than stock. I reckon a de cat would definitely Improve the sound.

Same here. On my other bike I always get an advisory saying " exhaust system noisy". Nothing has been said of the F4 with Silmoto's. It is at the discretion of the tester, except it should not have "race use only" or "not for highway use" stamped on it. However, I was told as a get-out, that the tester is not allowed to remove items securely fixed during an MOT, so if you tape over the writing they cannot remove the tape to reveal the writing.

Bike - 2005 F4 1+1s - Almost stock except for Silmoto cans & de-cat
