I'd do it if the Aprilia is something I lusted for. It's not like you can't ever have another MV. Buy em ride em sell em and repeat if neccesary .

The RF is sold out here in Australia.
I was a bit disappointed to see no TTX Ohlins on the rear for a top of the range bike.
IMO, getting the RR and up specing it might be the way to go and easier on the pocket.
But if your in the UK that might not be an option.

It's a cool bike and probably a very good one too. I am not sure if it will give in the end the pleasure of an MV... all the other bikes I have tried will get up being sold after a time. With MV...no way. Keepers.

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

I did what you have in mind .

Changed my (crashed) white gold Brutale 1090 RR for a 2014 RSV4 in red. Got this with 30% off as everybody wanted the 201 hp model.

For me the 184 hp are enough and also the Sachs suspension works very well.

What can I say??

I'm very happy with the change and do not regret it one second.

The engine sound makes me smile every time is press the starter knob. The Brutale sound is good, but nothing compared to a V4 !!!!

The biggest difference ist the chassis. Incredible how much more stable it feels in curves. Where the Brutale starts to jiggle in curves the RSV4 does not even think to jerk. It cuts through the curves like a scalpel.

Plus you have really working elelctronics with traction and wheelie control that you can 100% rely on!!! That gives you so much trust in your and your bike's skills.
My friends tell me that with the Aprilia I ride so much faster (that they cannot follow ).

I also do some trainings on the track. For more comfort I installed a ABM multiclip bar that rises your arms 7 cm, app 2,5". That is a lot!

My brother still rides his 1090R and we change bikes from time to time.
Our votes always are for the RSV4.

In German motorcycle magazines the new RSV4 is the overall winner in any shootout. Even over the BMW S1000RR and the new R1.
The chassis is simply better than the competitors (what only changed in minor details over the 14 model).

Test ride the RSV4 and you will be sold!!!!!
