There's No Such Thing...

...as a 'quick' trip to the motorcycle store when I'm on the Brutale!

Here's what I got today when I went to get some small part:

"Wow, is that your bike man?"
"Sweet ride!"
"I've only seen those in magazines!"
"How do you like it?"
"There's nothing like that around here..."
"Where did you get that?"
"Where's the nearest dealer?"
"Man, that's what I call commitment!" (after "How far did you have to go to get one?")

<Sigh> My "quick" trip wasn't so quick today...maybe next time. Yeah, right!!

weird. i've had a couple people ask me about my brutale. but i've found that most people don't know enough about motorcycles in general to even recognize that the brutale is something interesting.

used to get that all the time. The compliments were usually derived from not knowing WTF it was. And how cool the rear wheel looked.

I think the coolest was when I was dyno racing a GSXR painted like the General Lee. The model girls that were taking pics in front of the bikes were like "I like his better" pointing at my Brutale. Pretty rare considering it's a naked bike, and chicks dig fairings....

Truth is the Brutale is a gorgeous machine. It's so stunning to look at. I love it when people come up and ask, hey what is that? I'll bet they can't remember the name any way. After they say never heard of it I tell them it's Itailian. seems I always get a few when I fuel up. BTW it's so eye catching I have to keep it covered so I won't get stuck looking at it!

i either get people telling me "thats a nice aprilia" or i just tell people MV is my initial and i modded the hell out of an F4i Honda. Im sick of sitting around while people ask me how it wheelies or how fast does it run in the 1/4 mile

From an earlier post of mine...

I get the lookers more often on the Brute than any bike I've owned. Especially non motorcyclists.

From the "motorcyclists" it's usually

"What's that?"

"MV Agusta"

"What?"

"MV Agusta"

"WHAT???"

"A Honda."

"Oh...."

"Yeah, it's a prototype and I'm a test rider trying to log as many miles as I can."

Another one... After some furtive glances over my shoulder to "make sure no one was looking" I responded to one maroon's inquiry by asking if he'd heard about Harley's "brand-new top secret" plant that was being built in Augusta, GA and I was a test rider and the bike was an experiment to test "radial camshafts". I had him hooked good until I said MV stood for "Milwaukee Vibrator".

Harley-Davidson: Seen one, heard 'em all...
