Rebound adjustment on rear shock

I'm the proud new owner of an '08 910R, and have a couple of questions:

1. How do you adjust the rear shock rebound setting? It seems to me that the adjuster is inaccessable.

2. My right mirror's range of adjustment is actually useable, but the left won't rotate enough to see more than a short distance behind me (view is angled down). Is there any way to increase the range of adjustment? Maybe I have a faulty mirror - if it could "pivot" up as much as the left mirror I'd be satisfied. Please don't bother suggesting I get CRG lanesplitters - I'd like to stay with the (marginal) stock setup.

3. Has anyone removed the reflectors from the front fender? I'm afraid if I peel them off I won't end up with a nice shiny surface.

I can answer number 3:

yes, they peel off easily and the painted surface underneath the reflective sticker is nice and shiny. No harm done. Congratulations on the new 910, and welcome to the forum!

Don't forget to list your bike in the registry

I was able to access the rebound (both high and low speed, there are two you know)pretty easily with a medium length screwdriver. I wonder if you're looking in the right place? (It's dark outside now or else I'd take a photo). On my bike the mirror lenses pivoted evenly- both were more or less useless- but equally so (you know you push on the glass right?) I replaced mine with Rizoma Limits-not cheap, but attractive, similar in shape to stock, and much improved over stock. Does this help at all?

Thanks, but my problem is that the range of adjustment is different on the left mirror - I can pivot the right one up enough to work (minimally), but the left doesn't pivot as far. I had a 750s two years ago, so I'm aware of how the mirrors work, but the left doesn't move enough to be useful. No offense, but the Rizoma mirrors look pretty cheesy to me.

Regarding the mirrors, I know what you're talking about. I have a new '08 and my mirrors were doing exactly as you describe, except that my right mirror was the one that would never offer the appropriate range of adjustment.

I replaced my stock mirrors with Rizoma Radial Naked mirrors, and they're a huge improvement. Do you object to all the Rizomas or just the Limits? I am happy with the performance of the Radials and I think they look good, too. But maybe I like cheesy-looking mirrors. And no offense taken if you dislike these as well.

Congratulations on your new bike. I hope you find yours to be as fantasic as I have found mine to be.

The adjuster on the bottom is near impossible to see, buried as it is behind the catalyzer mid-pipe, but you can get to it.

Both my stock mirrors pivoted equally, and both offered great views of my shoulders (actually, they were usable, just not very). Maybe you do in fact have a defective mirror. Does the dealer have any more bikes you can sit on to compare?

I peeled the reflectors off carefully and stuck them on a clean piece of plastic sheet. I think I may actually be able to re-install them if I ever wanted to.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Thanks - I may end up with those, but after riding a Ducati 999 (and before that a Brutale 750s) I'm used to mirrors that are pretty lame - if I can swap my left mirror for one that pivots up enough I think I'll be OK. Thanks for showing me your option, but I think my next accessory will be a steering damper (I've already ordered a 41T rear sprocket).
