Anyone in Canberra have a Brutale 1090

Random question. Does anyone have a Canberra based 1090 I could swing past and have a look at before dropping a deposit on one? I'm not chasing a test ride, I simply want to make sure my 6'2" frame will fit prior to placing a deposit.

Doing it locally would be a lot more convenient than driving to Sydney for a 5 minute check.

Hey Troz,
I'm 6'2 and when I had a test ride on the 1090 it was like a lounge chair compared to my Duc.
It was the one thing I needed to check before I put my deposit down and I was quite happy with the ergos.

There is a 1090RR somewhere Canberra way, buggered if I can find the post now, but I saw a pic of the bike and told him to contact me if he ever wanted to sell it.

Cheers dude. If someone wants to offer me a look (not ride) in this thread I'll gladly take them up on it with a 6 pack of beer in hand. I'm not planning on chasing someone I don't know down though to pester them. Appreciate the heads up and hopefully they'll see this thread.

I've got a 1078 In Wagga if your ever up this way. I believe size is similar to a 1090.

Yep. Ordered a new 2013 plated Black 1090 from Dave at Moto Tecnica in Artarmon (Sydney). Brilliant service so far. I also had good service from Vic at Moto Technica (similar name, no relation) in Melbourne though they just couldn't match the deal. By all accounts the Sydney guys have a great service department too so I'm happy to be buying from them anyway since I'll probably get them to do my major services too. My thinking was that I'd rather buy a standard 1090 and heavily customise it than pay the similar cash for just a 1090RR and an aftermarket exhaust.

Big tip - order your genuine MV Corse etc parts from EvolutionBike in Italy. Roughly 60% of the price the importer charges the dealer for the identical equipment. Due to the size of my order I was also able to negotiate a further discount and free shipping/insurance.

End result is that I'll be getting a:
new Black Brutale 1090
MV Corse carbon fibre airboxes, radiator covers, oil cooler cover, ignition cover, dash, front fender
MV Corse race ECU
Dual seat conversion kit (i.e so it will have the same seat configuration as the 1090RR)
MV Corse black rider and passenger seats
Melotti tail tidy
Rizoma 'Tomok' mirrors
Rizoma 'action' LED lights for front and rear
Tamburini Corse full titanium race exhaust and manifolds
Tamburini Corse carbon fibre exhaust hanger
Tamburini Corse carbon fibre bell pan equivalent (for an idea of the look google Tamburini Corse Brutale T1 except my pieces are carbon fibre and not painted/carbon fibre)

P.S Tamburini Corse carbon fibre has an identical weave to the MV Corse carbon fibre for poeple with OCD like me.

All for not much more than a new 1090RR plus an importer sourced a MV Corse exhaust system.

I suspect I'll be much happier with my order.
