Coolant reservoir issues

Brutale dragster 800 rr my15

Filled reservoir and I think it need to drop down through the system but it’s not...

Any ideas on how to ?

Or do I just have to do a flush and refill?

The reservoir only lets fluid into the system when it is cooling down. To fill the system you need to access the radiator cap itself.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Going to do a flush on it then.

So a couple of q’s.

Do i really need to lift the tank to get to the expansion tank? Won’t filling the reservoir quick heat and cool cycle fill the expansion tank? Can’t I just access the radiator cap and fill from there ?

Also, what sort of quantity of liquid do i need to buy to fill the system?

Cheers in advance!

Thanks

You need a couple of liters of coolant. Just go to the auto supply and buy a gallon of quality "long life" coolant. It's the same thing as sold in motorcycle dealerships with fancy labels and brand names....but with a much lower price.

You need to fill the expansion tank because you never quite get all the air out of the radiator and hoses/passages, and the tank provides a small supply to fill the voids....also, you can't overfill the radiator so there is any extra to fill the expansion tank to its minimum level.
