Clutch sensor thread is 1/8" bsp

I was surprised to discover that the thread on the hydraulic clutch sensor switch wasn't M10x1.0. It is 1/8 bsp. I ran a 1/8" bsp die over an M10x1.0 switch and it screwed in and sealed fine using a bonded washer.

1/8"bsp switches seem to be expensive and hard to find but I see cheap car brake light switches on eBay for US cars. These are 1/8" NPT which is a tapered 28 tpi thread vs 1/8" bsp which is parallel 27tpi. I haven't tried one but they will probably work fine as long as they are not over-tightened.
esq'z me likes this.
