Removing aluminum bar end support

I bought a Dragster 800 RC and would like to replace the stock mirrors with bar end mirrors.

I took the stock mirrors off but there is a aluminum piece with a slot in middle that will not come out.

Is there a way to remove this or is this just part of the bar?

This is what i'm referring too, the piece on the end. (Pic was taken from a different thread)

Pretty sure that's a solid piece. Comes as one part. Also not like there is any reason for it to be hollow, given the other end of each bar is closed off by design.

Someone else may be able to chip in

Thumbs up ?

I've never seen a solid handlebar....too heavy
Remove the throttle and look for a seam, the slot is probably to unscrew the end

I have a Dragster 800 and just installed MV Corse bar ends and Rizoma bar end mirrors, you leave the aluminium piece in and take the inserts out of the bar ends, then the bar end mirrors clamp around.

See my thread, easy to do.
