Oh dear, from what the photos show it doesn't look like an impact from a foreign object, more of a weakness gone bad

Okay, so what caused the problem? Was it a broken pipe or the radiator itself? Or was it, like Bumpkin wrote, an impact from a foreign object??

Going back a 3-4 week or so I had the coolant replaced due to overheating/temperature surging and the fan being erratic, also told I had a new radiator cap replaced at the same time, the front fairing was also taken off to check the connector from the ecu to the dash head.
All that didn't seem to cure my problems. Thinking about it now, I went to a bike night a few days later and noticed some drops of coolant on the bottom pipe and put it down to the work that had been done on it.
Took it to a different dealer and his tech said it was a sensor before he even hooked it up to the diagnostics.
After he had worked on it it was fine, turned out to be the sensor by the headers, he also asked me if the radiator cap was replaced and showed me the one he had taken off, seems it hadn't been replaced after all, he said the sensor was matted in what appeared to be the rubber seal on the radiator cap which looked like it was rotting away. Anyway he took a cap off a bike he had sitting which had done a couple thousand miles and it was night and day in condition compared with mine.
Bike has been used only for about 6-7 commutes, came home the other day let it cool down to check oil and give it a little look over as you do and noticed a bit of fluid on the ground as I was lubing the chain. That was when I noticed the leak and took the pictures.
Gero, there does not appear to have any damage or strike marks in that area of the radiator.
From what I gather asking MV for a warranty claim on a radiator is about as futile as fitting a handbrake on a horse. So finance minister consulted and radiator ordered.
Sorry for the rambling post guys but you now know as much as me.

Surely one of the specialist firms out there can effect a repair on your current rad for a lot less £££?

Just looked up the cost of a new rad on Evolution Bike, almost €500

Either that or crack an egg into it
