Hub

Quick question but how hot does the back wheel hub get ?
My bike now has 600 miles on it & after a run the rear wheel & hub seems hot to the touch.Almost too hot to keep your hand on it.
It cools down very quickly but as this is the first SSSA bike I have owned I just wanted to know if this is normal ...

No, that does not sound normal, check and make sure you're chain is not over tensioned. Report this to your dealer.

Thanks Donsy I will talk to the dealer on Thursday when it has its first service, if anything the chain is too slack .. What else would cause this "problem" ?

Hard to say, ask them the check the actual hub bearings or just replace the whole thing. I've ridden a few of the triples and out of habit always checking the hubs afterwards, I've not felt one get that hot for sure.

You should be able to touch the hub,all hubs get hot though and depends on speed, distance travelled etc.I would get the dealer to check it all the same.MV don't put much grease in the hub from the factory.

Any quality High Temp Bearing grease lithium based, just don't mix grease.Thoroughly clean hub before re-greasing.
