Throttle unresponsive on acceleration

Last night on a ride home I came up behind someone making a right turn and closed off the throttle while remaining in 1st gear to slow down and wait for them to turn. After they turned I rolled on the throttle and nothing happened.

The engine sounded a little laboured (almost like throttles opening but no extra fuel being added), but didn't stall or kick or do anything other than not provide power.

I blipped the throttle a couple of times and then it came back to life.

This happened again a couple kms later, but then was fine for the last dozen kms home.

The engine has seemed to run fine for me up until this, no stalling, no hesitation.

Is this familiar to anyone?

I've had it happen a handful of times in the 4,000 kms that are on my F4. Hasn't been enough to really worry about it for me. Twice within a few kilometers might be something to worry about though, I'd keep riding and see if it continues to happen. If it does, take it to the dealer.

I spent an hour riding it about town, stop and go, to try and recreate it. But couldn't.

Then as I pulled on to the street in front of my house it happened again.

I wouldn't like this very much if I trying to get into traffic quickly.

That would drive me insane
What if your leant over in a low - mid speed turn you roll on and nothing.
Even if it only did it round town I couldn't enter a corner with confidence.
And without confidence in the machine, it's worthless

Just my 2c

Yup, used to happen to me at about 45mph. Hasn't happened in a while. Can't figure out what made it go away.

Question

Probably a malfonction of the hand throttle coil, changed on warranty, is a "electric" device, not very secure in certain conditions(that's explains why they fill a TC to avoid over gazing)

If you are confortable with your bike, you are not fast enough ! John Kocinski

This is starting to piss me off. When I am gassing it and the acceleration cuts the bikes dumps me forward and almost off the bike because I am tucked and over the tank expecting the bike to want to throw me back not forwards. Several times now I have been starring at my headlight!

They "fill a TC to avoid over gazing"? What does that mean?

Hi

I had this happen once only on my 2013 F4 1000RR. The bike was serviced soon after and the software upgraded and the problem hasn't reoccurred in 4,000km since.

I recall that an upgraded throttle assembly was available for the three cylinder bikes. I found several threads on the issue at the time it arose on my bike.
