3rd repair on sprag clutch

Anyone else been here? RPM sensor went out too. They upgraded the stock sprag to the current model but it had issues with multiple starts on short distances (running errands).

The other issues are that parts are not available and the bike, an F3 800, has been sitting in the dealership for five weeks collecting dust instead of mileage.

Considering buying a R6 just for running errands.

Any advice, thoughts, loaners?

Are you still on the original battery?

The above is coming from a guy who's had it with the stock battery and started to be scared that it'll screw up my 2nd sprag clutch as I was having problems starting it up. Just had my battery replacde during the 12k service. Mototecnic did also dismantle my sprag clutch to check it out make sure it's not damaged, free of charge Now, with an undamaged sprag and a new battery all my problems seem to be gone. So far...I've only ridden it twice since, but with no issues.

They are redesigning the sprag again. It'll be out in March/April '15. Tell your dealer to upgrade you.

What they need to do is use a more powerful, more reliable battery with more capacity.

Yes. I replaced my BS with a Yuasa on the advise of some forum members. I think MV is costing themselves a lot of money by installing horrible batteries. My cycle gear battery tender wouldn't charge my BS. It said it was defective.
