R312 Exhaust

Hi All!

Less than a week before my R312 arrives!!!

I am looking to do an exhaust upgrade, but have several questions:

(1)
Do I need to an ECU upgrade for Slip Ons?

(2)
If I do a Full Exhaust upgrade, do I need an ECU?

(3)
Is an ECU available for the R312? I heard not. If not, anyone know when it's expected to be ready?

Finally, what do you guys recommend? MV Corse Titanium or Slash Cut? Slip Ons only or Full?

Thanks!

312 doesn't have a seperate midpipe. It's one piece from headers to after cat. Take that into account. Congrats....

From my understanding you only have one choice, the full Ti system from MV which comes with the new race ECU. The cost is $6400 and I think there is a couple left in the US. I just spent the morning on the phone asking about it. Also, if you stick a NON OEM system on your R312 you may have a tough time convincing the insurance company to reimburse you if you should you wreck the thing. My insurance guy said they only cover up to $500 in add-ons and which piont I said, "this is not an add-on, it's OEM upgrade much like cars get larger OEM wheels, only the exhaust wasn't available at the time of order". He made note of it in my file since I'm insuring my bike for up to $50K.

Just some thoughts but I'd seriously look into the exhaust before ordering it for the R312 because it's completely different than even the 06 and 07 F4100R's.

Thanks! So, there is a new race ECU for the 312. Do you mind letting me know where I could get the Full Ti System with the ECU?

Ask for Ian. He was on the phone all day with the guys so he can tell you about the R312's, what options there are and how they differ.
