750 question

Im currently counting down the days before my father in law sells me his F4 750.

I had always assumed that his bike was the first 750 model, with the weakest power output, that is until today when im sure i noticed on his MOT certificate that its model was F4 750 SPR.

I asked him later and he said hes no idea what im talking about.

Could someone please tell me what the differences are in the engines of these 750's?

The bike is 2001 model.

There were three/ or four different 750 engines

Evo 1
Evo 2
Evo 3
SPR Engine

This link should help http://mvfaq.blogspot.com/2006/03/mo...enna-2002.html

I don't remember but I don't think the SPR 750 came out in 2001. Here's more info on the SPR:

Thanks for the replies but the above link didnt help me identify what the bike is, it just desecribed the different engines.

Surely someone must be able to tell me for sure which the bike is just from the year number?

It is indeed a red and silver bike.

There was a red/silver SPR model in 2001, but that one is very very rare... I think it has the Senna 750 engine. If so it's marked SPR on the lowest faring. Just like JSM made his 1000 as an example...

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Its most likely a mistake by person who completed the MOT cert.
What does it say on the Registration Document, check the eng number . Think evo 2 started at 004146.

From the year number its a standard 126hp F4.
There is no such bike as evo 1.
