Would it be silly to add a R or a 312 to the stable

I have a 05 1000s now looking to add something else to the stable. I was thinking a 1098S but there are none around maybe worth waiting until next year. THe other thought is to add a 1000R or a 312 but not sure if they are to close to what I have now. Any ideas or is this a wise idea being I will also be keeping the 1000S

There are a few people here that have both S and R models.
If you buy an R,you will either sell your S or make a track bike out of it.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Yes, too much overlap. You already have an MV more capable than 99% of those astride it. Be patient and pick up a luscious 1098s -- how they complement each other cannot be understated. Each one will seem more special going from one to the other.

If you look, do some legwork, leave messages and make phone calls, my guess is you can find a 1098s sooner than you think... though it may involve a drive to pick it up. And if you can't find one, make a deposit and be patient for a little while... late summer at the latest. Your patience will be rewarded. It is worth it

Keep your S and get the 1098S and you'll have the best of both worlds (4-inline and V-twin)
Or.... even better, swap your S for the R or 312 and get the 1098S

I agree. Keep the s and buy the 1098. You will own the best I4 and the best twin. Your toughest decision will be choosing which one to ride.

I have a friend who owns 1000S and Bought a 312 with no regrets even though he was having thoughts abt 1098.

It all the 312 has better edge over the 1098 after testing it.
