There are quite a few people here who have had an S in the past and now own an R : but I don't know if anyone actually owns both apart from Mr Burn of course.

Well the R is newer and faster.
But whether or not it's better for you and worth considering with respect to the price difference is entirely subjective.

Well I had an S and now own a Senna which is the same engine/brakes as the R.
I can tell you that there are noticeable differences in engine response and braking.
The engine is crispier faster in response and I personally feel it torquier. And brake wise is from earth to heaven comparison.
From the spongy feeling of the Nissin 6 piston brakes to the very trustworthy brembos.
