3 MVs, 3 eMoto UK -HID- installs

This past weekend Alex (altoon) hosted a small HID install get together at his home (thanks!). Ben (Odonata) and Gregg (GRand) arrived with their Senna's (while I arrived to see my Ago sleeping next to Alex's F4)

The Kit installed is the eMoto UK HID Xenon lightning kit seen here:
http://www.emotouk.com/mvagusta/hid.htm

Overall I must say the kit was well made and great for making a clean MV install with the wires being length for placing the Ballast/Relay towards at the tail, and hiding away the Starter giving an overall "OEM" feel to the bike. Even if you look extremely hard at the F4s it will be pretty hard to notice the existance of a 3rd party kit.

Lucky for us F4 owners, the headlights are already "projector" style, giving us a great beam pattern/cutoff:

Some photos of the routing. Alex scored an X into the bottom boot of the light housing in order to run the cables through the boot for the HID bulb.

Rather than having the parts (starter, relay, ballast) exposed, we found nice places to put them. Very well hidden away!

My ballast was placed in the central holding area beneath the seat:

The senna's took a different approach which was quite brilliant:

Special thanks to Alex for hosting and being a huge part of the install!

Even though I already have an HID low-beam, I hate I missed the chance to do this with you guys. Looks like fun. Well...next time.

Nice job...I didn't think there was anywhere to hide the ballsts on these bikes, looks like another mod to add to the list.

the older kits like the one i have from xtra lights had shorter wires and made it a little more difficult to hide the ballast and ignitor. but it's the light that matters. my bikes not going to any concourse any time soon.

When I got my HID kit all the instructions basically said was to bend the wire that holds the HID light in place, an few warnings, and a few order of instructions.... nothing specific. I am pleased to see that I installed the kit the same way as you guys did in your first few pics.... everything is the same...even the ignitor box bieng mounted next to the right side of the engine. Good write up. At first I thought it would be pretty hard to install....I looked at it for a while and did mock set-ups for different locations and found the way I felt was best for install.

what i find strange on this setup is that the ballast is at the rear end of the bike
they always told me the cabling of xenon is quit short and cables can not be extended due the high voltage and possible overheating

Haven't had a single problem with the HIDs. Have put on about 1000 miles since the install
