Isolating Noise from Vibrations

Or is it ..... Isolating Vibrations from Noise?

I usually give my bike (MY10/F4) a complete once over the beginning of each month and “batten down the hatches”.

The bike is noisier than before and I know it just has to do with rattling somewhere that I can’t pinpoint.

Is there a list floating around somewhere on this forum or on the net that may describe the more common location points and parts on an F4 that would require one to pay closer attention to on a more frequent basis?

** I WILL MAKE A LIST OF ALL ITEMS COLLECTED DURING THIS THREAD **

I started performing forum searches but was not able to gather up anything that might provide some answers.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I don't know about 2010 models but the little clip cover to the gas cap buzzes like a mother between 4-5, annoys the shit out of me. Beyond that and a little squeak around the front clip/mirror brackets when going over speed bumps I dont really hear much on the 02.

vibrations? noise? rattling? does newer F4s have the same problem with distribution chain tensioners???? my F4 312R started having rattling and strange vibrations and i recently discovered that it was the chain tensioner , it was a surprise as my bike was fitted from factory with the improved tensioner(black)....

Your bike was just tuned. Maybe they didn't tighten it all back down properly? OR, Maybe it's just making too much power!

HA!

Yes, too much power .... I wish.

Or maybe I need to get me a Bodis Full System like you have ..... then I'll probably never hear the noise again ..... sounds like a plan .....

BTW, how do you like the Bodis system?

I'm going to change mine sometime next year and haven't decided yet on which system I will go with.

Love the sound, not too loud but loud enough. My problem is that there's no fueling options for the 2013 yet. The bike makes more power with this system even without being tuned but it surges pretty badly at low rpm/steady throttle.
Most of the titanium (the part you can't see) looks great but the muffler portion (where the sheet is rolled to form the tube) is pretty rough. I would have expected better for this kind of money.

That is a sick looking system and infinitely superior to the ones they put on the 10+ models stock. If it sounds anything like the -09 models then its got to sound great, although damned loud when you are behind it. Id love to rock it but we live in close quarters in Atlanta, I often take the MV to work at 7am and prefer to have cordial relationships with my neighbors.

I leave for work at 3:30AM and have to move my Camaro (with headers) to get the bike out.
