2010 F4

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Dennis and i'm in the process of looking at a 2010 F4. It has 900 miles on it and appears to have the original tires or maybe this might be multiple sets on it? Anything you can share with me on this bike would be appreciated. Or is there another link on these questions elsewhere on the site? I have followed MV's since the 70's and have an opportunity here to purchase one. Like how long is the warranty for? Can you change your own brake pads with simple tools? Adjust the chain, change your oil? My riding with this bike will be about a 1000 or so miles a year, mostly coffee shops and short runs.

Thanks in advance for all replies.

All tools are pretty normal, te only slight complication is to adjust the chain you need a special tool that should be in the underseat toolkit, so check that's complete. And you'll need a torque wrench to ensure you don't over tighten the eccentric hub pinch bolts.

I've had my MY10+ for about 3 weeks now. They're great bikes. However, if you've never ridden an MV before, I'd suggest you test ride one. They're not the most comfortable and refined of bikes, but they are enormous fun providing you're in the mood.

Ps. Warranty is 24 months.

i have had mine 2010f4 now for about 6 months... great bike, servicing is simple as stated above tho i still take mine to the dealer due to it being under warranty

there r a few little issues with the bikes, but nothing major like the new 2013's.... so far i've had a sticky throttle, which was the throttle cable jumping off the runners and geting court.... which i fixed
the other is the fact mine pumps oil into the airbox if u pull a wheelie or 2, which i'm yet to fix.... in the process of fitting a oil catch can which should fix the problem... its only a very small amount of oil tho

Welcome to the forum. I have had my 2010+ since Sep 2010. Simply fantastic to ride if you like sports bikes. It is no more or less comfortable that other hyper sports bikes and I ride mine up to 500 km each time I go out. Maintenance is not difficult and there is plenty of help in this forum. I did a write up of my test ride in 2010 and will try to find a link. At 900 miles, I would expect the original tyres are still fitted - Pirelli supercorsas if my memory is correct.

Good luck with your choice.

1996 Kawasaki ZZR 250 (The first road bike - sold)
2001 Honda VFR800F (The first big bike - now sold)
Yamaha YZ426 (A bit of fun on the side - sold)
2003 Ducati 998 (The first sports bike - I want another one)
2010 MV Agusta F41000R (The current ride - I just keep smiling!)
