When i rev 6000rpr-8000rpr and close the throttle quick, the engine backfire real high? RG3, Arrow midpipe and BMC filter.

My bike does that, sounds pretty impressive with the Bodis exhaust, dealer told me most MVs do it,mainly on over-run then slight throttle opening and Bang.I don't think you have any worries.

Technically not back fire....it's called AFTER FIRE as it occurs in the exhaust and not back up the intake....unburned hydrocarbons igniting in the exhaust system.

The second air system in Euro3 spec bikes is supposed to minimize this.

Listen to race bikes accelerating hard...sometimes you hear a loud pop as they shift?? That bike's quick shifter is cutting spark as the shift lever is moved and the momentary loss of ignition lets unburned gas into the header which then immediately ignites as the shift is completed and spark returns...

Your after fire is caused by a rich over run, but the effect is the same...small explosion in the exhaust system.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Maybe...if the TPS is out of spec. Careful tune never hurts.

I get a few pops from my exhaust on high rpm decel...I kind of like it...sounds like a race bike!!

My SPR backfires like you explained big flames out the back. My previous map on the bike didnt backfire soo much but when i got retuned it started to backfire more than usual. So im thinking the mixture is rich somewhere but in saying that the bike runs very well

Thumbs up Know What You Like & Just Do It

I love that sound on the overrun, the louder the pop & gurgle the better - both my F4 & F3 do it, both have straight through 'custom experimental home modded' exhausts - I don't race for a living so the (right) noise is everything to me, I'd even happily dump a few HP to get it. On the America with the baffles out it is absolutely orgasmic

The F3 sometimes pops so loud it makes innocent bystanders jump - if I can time the roll off /hard roll on just right - Justin at Trooper Lu's Garage said to me "Would you like me to try and tune it out?" My reply ' Are you f#*king nuts?" - I think I know why they like working on my bikes there.

My only instruction is that I insist all my bikes to run slightly rich if anything, replacing fouled plugs (worst case scenario) is cheap & easy - replacing denotated pistons slightly more complex & expensive.
