noisy clutch

Hi i have a 05 F4S with 2000 k's on it. and i recently noticed that while idling in neutral the clutch is very noisy, if i pull the clutch even a tiny bit the noise goes away. with the clutch out there is a slight vibration throuth the lever. is this normal or do i have a problem with my clutch. thanks

Sounds like clutch to me. Did the bike just recently start making this noise ?

On another note, have you had the timing chain tensioner upgrade done?

im not sure when it started being noisy and i have not done the tensioner upgrade yet. i am almost sure the noise is clutch related as it stops rattling when i pull the lever. if it is a problem with the clutch, what do you think it might be as its almost a brand new bike. could it be a loose bolt in the clutch. thanks Dons. Noel might have something to add here, but I would look into that clutch quick smart. If it goes quite when you pull the lever it has got to be something to with those clutch springs.
You say brand new ? What year is your bike Russell ?

Wink noisy?

F4RUSTY;
bearing inner race in the basket is too long (or the basket is too short)

item #19 page G09 of the parts book

slight pressure on the clutch push rod moves the entire clutch outboard stopping the noise

if its been noisy all along leave it, if it just started check the torque on the clutch hub nut

it has nothing to do with the pressure plate springs....
the fiber plates have one tab marked......i always put them in the same slot in the basket...i doubt they balanced the clutch pack though
