grit in coolant

I took a ride the other day and when I pulled up I noticed a small splash of what looked to be coolant on the top of the left fork leg.

Took a look inside the coolant resevoir to see what looks like really fine sandy grit deposited just above the line of the coolant.

It is only a small amount, light brown in colour but I am still a bit concerned.

My SPR is running really well otherwise with no major overheating problems........

Drain and flush the system several times with distilled water. Some vinegar in the first flush will assist in cleansing. Run the engine in between flushes.

Fill with fresh coolant, take it for a decent ride, then check the reservoir again?

The splash could have nothing to do with the grit. The grit may have been there a while if you haven't checked it recently, and it's not something that would be checked that often really, normally.

Will do as advised, I have a full SPR workshop manual on the way so til then I just needed to check there is nothing crazy that may occur in flushing the system, I have not worked on an F4 before....
