F4 service after being stood a long time?

Hi all, new to this forum but am about to pick up a bike hopefully that's been sat a very long time, nearly 10 years in fact. It's done less than 500 miles in it's lifetime.

I just wondered what attention such a thing would need? I was thinking obviously oil and filters, fuel system service and new tyres - anything else? Do these bikes use cam belts or chains?

Sorry for the simplistic questions but I'm coming from my last 3 bikes being Ducati so mv is a little new to me!

That's a long time! My list would be as follows

Oil and filter
Fuel filter
Tires
Flush and replace coolant
Flush all brake and clutch fluids
Replace oil in forks and hope seals are not dry and are ok
Spark plugs to iridium
Air filter
Inspect/replace/lube chain
Inspect rear hub bearings

And take it easy on her for the first 500 miles.

Welcome to the forum mate, you forgot the battery Joe, if it's 10 years old I'd throw it even if it seems to be OK.

If you can't fix it with a hammer you've got an electrical problem!

No MV's in the garage anymore

What would you say I should be paying for such a thing? Mvs seem very hard to value and especially one with low mileage and been sat for years needing work

Really appreciate the xomments

Oh ya. Battery is a given. Price? It must be either a 2000 or 2001 so I would say $5500 to $6000 tops. Needs a lot of work.

I'm in the process of restoring a mk1 cortina that's been sat for 35 years, now that's a lot of work! The mv should be a walk in the park
