A BOLT from the blue...luck prevails!

Well, I was out for a spirited ride last week, testing suspension and tires. We stopped for a break and to discuss destination and I just happened to look down at my right boot. Something just didn't look to be correct. The pictured bolt, which holds the swingarm pivot in place, had backed out and was only being held by three threads...
It was so loose that it was easily turned by hand. Now, this bolt has a 20mm head...where the feck does one find a 20mm socket (yes, it's recessed) in the middle of East Bumf*ck! A riding bud had a multi-tool and I used it improperly to at least seat the bolt. Tonight, I was reminded of this as I was putting the bike back together after installing a Melotti Tail Tidy, Rizoma Turn Signals, and a Carbon Fiber Heat Shield...sweet looking addition by subtraction. Anywho...I torqued the offending 20mm bolt tonight to its proper 70-75Nm.

The offending bolt...CHECK YOURS!!!

Thanks for the tip! And nice bike btw!!!

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Skye I miss you. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

I was not as lucky and lost my bolt and spacer. Not sure about Chuck but I have had my bolt out. So I am going with it was my fault. Must not have tighten it correctly.

I believe Noel is a proponent of proper torque....and lockwire.
