Tail of the Dragon

I am getting ready to deploy again soon so Fam and I went on a little vacation. Took them and bike to NC to visit friends. We rented a cabin in Fontana Dam NC and went for rides on the Tail of the Dragon. For those who don't know what that is, it's a road that has 318 turns in 11 miles. The pass at the end has had a rock slide so there is no going through. Thus, 636 twisties in 22 miles!!!!! If you haven't had your MV here you are missing one of the better rides of your life!!!!

Yes, been on the Tail several times, picking different types of poison. Attached a pic of my wife at Fontana Dam, getting ready to take the 911 through the twisties. Also a pic of the 911 in fron of the Tree of Shame.

Are they still running it in one direction, or is the clean-up from the land slide finished ?

What about the cops ? They're terrible out there...

The Dragon is great, but tends to be congested at times.

Our run

Our run was trouble and traffic free. We were there early in the morning (around 10am) and it was stunning day weather wise. The MV ran flawless all week long. That thing is made for the twistie roads up there!!
