Cool My first, very personal, impressions of the 2010 F4

Rode to Dipi today on the Millesettantotto for a tyre change (QII's swapped for Sportsmarts; first impression? Amazingly good tyre), and had a brief 10 mile test ride on the 2010 F4. What did I think?

Riding position doesn't suit me. Too upright, big wide seat that you don't need. Left ankle (admittedly my left foot turns inward of it's own accord; I can't help it) rubs the left pillion peg, very annoying.

Handling lighter and slightly (not a lot) better than the Millesettantotto with HK Suspension adjusted suspension. A bit more agile, and you certainly feel the weight difference.

Engine character resembles the 312R; midrange feels a bit gutless compared to the Millesettantotto but revs up nicely though not as eye watering as my Millesettantotto (MV race ecu, RG3's, cat replacement, race headers). Vibrations are more noticeable and certainly more unpleasant than on my Millesettantotto. OK; it only had a few hundred miles under its belt.

Standard square cans are very loud; the Millesettantotto sounds deeper and I like that better, but that certainly is a matter of personal preference.

Esthetics? No question there.

Build quality? No question there. It's cheaper innit?

Conclusion: I honestly don't think it's an enormous jump forward, though for those accustomed to riding Jap bikes it will feel both familiar and adventurously different.

I'll just stick to my old and heavy Millesettantotto, the last of a rare breed...

Mais non Yves; one of us would speak Dutch and the other one would speak Flemish...

Do you support the plan to split up Belgium in to a Flemish speaking and a Francofone part? I certainly do. The Flemish could then join Holland; that would improve the average quality of Holland a lot!

Why do you type "Millesettantotto" all the time ??? . Isn't it just a 312RR ?

Coz it says so on the tin... of course, you'd have to ogle one in the flesh to know that.

Sigh... "Millesettantotto" is Italian for one thousand and seventy eight..., and MV saw fit fit to spray paint that moniker on the bike. I saw fit to have it discreetly embroidered on my alcantara seat.

Pete.... you don't have a "Millesettantotto", so you can't ask that question about a "Millesettantotto". If you had a "Millesettantotto", you could ask that question!!
Only owners of "Millesettantotto" are real Mv owners as a "Millesettantotto" is the greatest creation from Mv. I have a "S" model so I am nowhere near a "Millesettantotto" owner yet.... one day I will have a "Millesettantotto" to go aside my "S" bike.

"Millesettantotto" "Millesettantotto" "Millesettantotto" "Millesettantotto" "Millesettantotto" "Millesettantotto" "Millesettantotto" "Millesettantotto"

If at first you don't succeed, use a hammer instead
