Marzocchi Forks

Now this isnt really a MV question but since the MV's come with Marzocchi forks its the best forum to find the information. Now my F41000R suspension is perfectly solid even with me @ 240lbs.

My issue is that I have a 998 that a previous owner installed Marzocchi 50mm aftermarket forks on it.(http://www.marzocchi.co.uk/moto/1316...ml?id=4Lj8oyAn) The front forks on that thing are a freaking pogo stick. Any time I tap the brakes or or set the front end down from even a tiny wheelie (the 998 is a monster wheelie machine) the front end bottems out HARD with a loud clunk. I have been looking for some company, any company (marzocchi included) that makes a spring or drop in kit for these 50mm forks. As you can see from the link above and the picture I included they are the 50mm Road and Competition series.

Basically I am asking if anyone knows any company that makes springs or drop in kits for them... Thanks for anyones help!!!

Happiness is a belt fed weapon in a target rich enviroment!!!

Since it looks like you are in the Vancouver/Portland area, you may wish to call EDR Performance. I've had those guy set up (race prep and performance street) several of my bikes and they do a great job. I'm sure they can recommend spring rates, source the part, and install if you'd like.

If you have access to a good local suspension specialist, that is always the best way to go.

Fast By Ferracci are authorized Marzocchi specialist, and should be able to help, if you don't have access to someone local.

There is another thread on here somewhere about this. There is currently no drop in kit for the 50 mm Marzocchi forks. That being said, I am on my second fork rebuild here to get it right. FBF has the parts and the knowledge to get it right since thary have th erace bike setups. FBF is working with my dealer to get the setup correct for me...Marzocchi, the Company, has a website, and support, but you'll have to have loads of patience because all of there stuff comes from Italy and, well, it's a bit frustrating.

With out insulting your intelligence, I assume your settings are correct? You have checked the preload, compression, and rebound?

If you are bouncing around like a pogo stick, that sounds to me like the rebound is too fast.

Actually sounds like no comression dampening and no rebound dampening doesn't it....

I would contact Dan Kyle at Kyle Racing which is located in California. His number is 866-667-4925. He has helped me to get Ohlins fork springs to work for my wife's 07 Brutale 910R. She weighs 145 in gear and the bike is setup for heavier people from the factory. He also resprung her stock shock. He is very good at what he does. They are the largest Ohlins dealer in the US.

HyperPro makes a very good progressive rate spring kit that works very well in the Marzocchi forks....I used them for my Brutale fork rebuild and love the result.

you can call Marzocchi direct in California They are actually having there Motorcycle Specialist there this week for KTM testing. They will even set your stuff up for way CHEAPER! than anyone else. Was talking to them last night about the Corsa set up FBF is offering to see the price difference.
