R312 Rear Tire

Has anyone used a 190/50 rear tire instead of the stock 190/55?

If so, what are the pros and cons?

Thanks,

I've used both on a 312R. I would say go for the 190/50/17.
Just my opinion but the bike just seems to turn in a little better so +1 for the 50.

doesn't make much difference at all, you just get better tyre options going with 190/50/17

I when from 190x50 to 190x55 rear and I prefer the 190 x 55.

Pros of 190 x 55
- bike turns in quicker due to higher rear height.
- additional more grip at full lean, so I can be earlier on the throttle.
- higher top speed
- bike will have even more lean angle

cons of 190 x 55
- a little more expensive to purchase
- heavier tyre
- speedo will be slightly out
- similar feeling of removing one tooth at the rear sprocket

Slow is smooth and smooth is fast!!
