"How much was that thing? No - not the bike"

Last night I was at a bike night in San Diego. I go every week and there is an interesting mix of riders, but it's mostly stunters and "gangs" wearing prospect/member vests and tennis shoes.
Anyhow, I pulled up with a group of people and got off the MV. It's pretty typical that someone comes up and wants to talk about the bike. I usually meet some cool people this way and have some good conversations about all kinds of stuff.
This particular night, a young kid, maybe 20 years old, maybe in the military, comes up to me and says, "Wow man, that's really cool!"
In the middle of taking off my helmet, I say, "Thanks man", and get ready to introduce myself.
He asks, "How much was it?", and as I'm about to tell him the price of the MV, I notice he's looking at the GoPro camera I have mounted on the nose.

"Uhhh. It was about 150 bucks. You can find it on the web."

He, apparently out of some obligation took a quick look at the bike and said, "uh-gust-uh? Are they a new company or something? I've never heard of them. Pretty cool bike."

Then he called his girlfriend over who was apparently his pillion, maybe 20 feet away. "Hey baby!! Come look at this. He has a camera on his bike!"

I didn't know what else to say. I just turned around to go talk to my group of friends, all of which were standing there with this classic look on their faces, like, "Seriously!? Did that really just happen"

What oddball comments have ya'll heard when on the MV? (apart from the classic, "Uh. Is that a Ducati?"

Ha. Reminds me of the time I had one guy in a delivery truck ask me about my boots. I think he liked the reflectors on them.

i have had a few people ask me if it is a honda....A HONDA!!?!?!? come on!

i also had someone ask me if all four of the exhaust actually worked, that one took at my energy not to just start laughing in his face.

But like most people here, it is normally "beautiful bike" or 'good looking bike' and then great conversations. This should be a good post!

i was tempted to let him know that they work individually, like the first works in first gear, the second in second gear and it cycles back to the first one in 5th....but, i kept my composure, thought to myself this guy doesn't know much about bikes, and went to explain how the system goes from 4 pipes at the headers, into 2 and then back into 4 that all work at once.

....we will understand each other quite good if we ever meet....I see you are thinking along my lines...I was also thinking about the one pipe for a gear thing when I read your post...

Did he ask the follow up, "if they go to four pipes to two and back to four, then why not just go straight to four?"

There are many cars with "four" pipes where 2 or more are dummies.
