Massive flat spot @ 4000rpm

So I've noticed if Im in second and throttle on from 4000rpm, there is an annoyed gurgling from the engine, along with a mild engine braking effect (I slow down slightly). The revs gradually rise before shooting up as per normal.

Found this to be quite dangerous as if you're wanting a touch of throttle on gentle slow bends instead you get a nice touch of slowdown :S . I'm pretty sure this is the same in 1st and 3rd, although higher gears it seems to fade away.

It feels to me as though the engine is being drowned with fuel at that point. A big opening of the throttle at 4k results in a very grumpy reaction. I should also point out is in an 01 F4750, and to my knowledge is still awaiting a proper service, 5000 miles on the clock.

Can anyone offer any insight?

Jon

As you are apparently unwilling to divulge any information on the bike concerned (Ural, Dnjepr, whatever)...

Cool

Apologies are in order

Eprom might be astray. Have it checked by a knowledgeable dealer if you can.
