Check list for 1078

Hi fellow Agustatistis (not sure if that's correct haha).. I'm a newbie on here and am a proud future owner of the 1078.. Heard of many horror stories and went against friends' advice.. So I've read thru previous posts and hv identified various teething problems with the F4 machines such as below.. correct me if i'm wrong and pls let me know if there are other issues that i need to be aware of when i get my bike:

1. Overheating
2. Radiator/coolant leak
3. Ignition
4. Power loss
5...

Never heard of Ignition or power loss issues. And the other first one is not really an issue. It is if you make it an issue by not riding at higher speeds and ride in stop and go traffic.

Agreed.

Malaysian climate could be a test. Should be nice in the Cameron Highlands though. Plenty of info here if you thinks it's a bit warm for you.

Love Malaysia. Beautiful country and people.

Hey Stiv, do give a shout if u happen to be in KL next time.. the Karak highway near KL and Camerons are easily among the best routes around.. not to mention our track days at Sepang are cheap relative to Europe and the US

Thanks.. Supposed to be over there later this year down in Malacca.
The bike riders i've seen over there seem pretty crazy. In KL especially. Hilarious to see 30 -40 bikes crammed at the front of an intersection get so impatient they ended up just having a drag through a red light! Never seen that before.

Was told the annual raod toll for Malaysia is about 10,000.

7,000 of those are motorcylists. That's not true is it?

Just checked your issue list, you better add

No. 5 an ever lasting Grin/smile to the point people think something is wrong with you
No. 6 An ever decreasing bank balance due to mods/CF and little projects

was the ignition/power loss not with the brutale? I take it, its the F4 you are going with?

enjoy

yep u are right.. probably higher, but mostly for mopeds and cubs not superbikes.. 'rempit'.. remember this word. that's the term in malay used for hooligans or terrorists on motorcycles.. they not only ride like mad but are also into snatch thefts, drugs etc etc.. and they are the ones u saw in KL.. a real menace and we are trying to educate this ppl to get off the streets..

tks FX1NXS.. definitely the F4 and i'm already wearing a silly grin and worried about my bank balance.. so it seems that it's only the radiator leak that's most problematic.. very similar to my 848.. at least we are getting 2-year warranty on the bike. i'd def get the radiator mesh grill nearer to the expiry of the warranty period

The radiator normally overflows if it's been overserviced which was the case with mine.
