A Ducati 16m ECU is your best alternative.
What's wrong with your current one?

Old Wing Nut
The 1.6M ECU is a common part used in many Ducatis and in all pre-Euro3 spec MVs (pre-2007).
Only the eprom chip inside is different. Search eBay, etc or have it repaired as Dipple66 suggested. A search on the forum will yield much reading about this subject.
Maybe only your chip is bad?? Check with Adam (Merc07 on the forum). He may be able to help.

Sending it to Australia to get repaired by ECU Meistro could be cheaper and better than an old 16M depending on the problem. Deet was a very nice fellow to chat with and knew his stuff. I highly recommend him. What specifically is the ECU not doing?

I think it is always better to be able to keep your original ECU fitted to the bike for resale if possible.
