running hot

What is the "normal" operating temp. for the 312r? I haven't over heated but I've been close 243F at very slow speeds on in traffic.

mate there is heaps on "temperatures" in this site just search the discussion forum

243? Yikes. I have an 05 F41000S and live in Southern Cali. In traffic, it doesn't usually go higher than about 225.

That is quite high! Your bike's temperature display should be blinking quite vigorously starting from 232 degrees if I remember right. That means it is overheating...at least thats what I think.
