Need help to Fit F4 frame sliders

Guy's I need help how to fit frame sliders on my F4.
When I insert the spacer into the frame, the threaded hole of the engine is not centered to the hole of the spacer. Can somebody tell me if it is possible to aline by sliding the engine from the frame or it is bcauce those sliders are crap.......

Somethings missing here... There should be a positioning washer in that hole, PLUS, umm, you didn't unbolt BOTH frame bolts at the same time perchance? If you did, the enginge has dropped out of position.

i'd be having second thoughts about the frame sliders on the race bike
i've come full circle with this because i brought some to put on mine (the motivation ones that it looks like you've got there) and have been convinced otherwise.

down at the shop talking to the mechanic (about adapting the fairings to fit) and he showed me three bikes where the knob had snagged on the road surface and bent the frame.

the theory is that in a slide the fairing should better protect the bike's frame because it allows the bike to slide and dissipates the energy slowly (although expensive with MV fairings at around au$1500 a pop!)

where as the knob is a risk of catching and twisting the frame/engine mounting bolts.

i've seen two different approaches with this, one with a smaller bolt for the knob that threads into the engine mount bolt and
the other solution used down here was on a set of after-market fairings is fibreglass a strip of aluminium into the fairing.

i guess its a question of risk - cost or replacing the fairing VS chance or writing-off the bike
if you still intend to put the sliders on it looks like you might need to support the engine (lift it) so the holes align better
(is that a stand in the first picture?)

Fazer6 is possibly correct. If you removed both bolts at the same time, although unlikely but occasionally possible, the engine may have shifted down. You might have to try and block off and jack it back up.

Actually we do not really recommend these sliders on the F4 unless you are using race plastics.

Nothing is missing here, I have the positioning washer and I didn't unbolt both of the bolts a the same time and the engine has not moved.

Hi Snohman,

I am coverting my R312 into a track bike and I want it fully protected. Maybe I should go for the one with a smaller bolt for the knob that threads into the engine mount bolt
Do you know any after market frame protector that those it ?
