I'm going to weigh in here. Donsy and Carl each did a pretty thorough thread about the differences in First Gen exhausts. There are some significant differences in clearance from bike-to-bike. For the life of me, I cannot remember.

He should still be OK with jut the slip-ons. The headers on some of the bikes are a little different, but the slip-ons are all the same.
